This is a wonderful article from Reader’s Digest that encourages faith in the power of prayer for healing. It works, so why don’t we do more of it? Read this and try more of it yourself. It just takes a bit of faith (as little as “a grain of mustard seed”) to do miracles. With the world in the mess it’s in, I’m sure we’ll be hearing more testimonies of miraculous healings. Let’s help get that ball rolling! There are absolutely NO negative side-effects!
Healing Prayer
By James R. Yates, Reader’s Digest, March 1996.
Does prayer heal? Scientists are discovering what believers have always known. It was during residency training at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas, when I had my first patient with terminal cancer in both lungs. (more…)

This morning I read about Dry Skin Brushing  and even watched a demonstration video. For the past few days I’ve been improvising as I wasn’t really sure of the technique, but even in my own clumsy style, I’ve reaped some of the benefits! For one, my VERY dry skin is actually smoother, though at first I thought I was just irritating it. And secondly, it is very invigorating and actually feels great for quite some time afterwards. I think the brush I’m using is a bit too coarse, but it’ll be a while before I get a chance to look for a better one, so I’ll keep using it. Maybe I’ll just toughen up!

The research I did made many claims for the benefits of dry skin brushing, including that it is helpful in eliminating toxins related to cancer treatments. (more…)

Dear__________,

I was so happy to hear from you today.  I have been thinking about you and wondering how your diet and lifestyle changes were going.  I think you are right that you have “majored on the majors”.  That is really huge and I think you shouldn’t worry too much about the cooked vs. raw vegetable ratio.  I think the critical thing is eating the “right” vegetables.  I am so intrigued by your description of the bean mixture you take.  It sounds like a wonderful idea; you get all the benefits of the beans without the gas.  I think there is much to be learned from traditional cultures and Western medicine is so blind to it. Dear L,

It’s hard to believe that it’s been another 2 1/2 months since I last wrote. Lots has happened since then, including moving house! Our previous landlady got greedy and wanted more rent money, then, when she realized we were not willing to pay more than before and we would therefore be moving, she begged us to stay at the same price, long contract, blah, blah, blah. But we’d already found a better place, so we moved. The new place is bigger and better for the same price. So, that’s done now, but there are still things to do to get fully set up, so we’ve been busy.

How are you and yours? We’re all fine. Of course the cancer is still a concern and affects my meals most of all, (more…)

Chapters 9 through 12 have been posted in my book-style story of my cancer journey, which I’ve titled “Choosing Cancer–My Story”. Yes, I will, sooner or later, get around to explaining why I’ve called it that. For now, there are some interesting points in the 4 most recent chapters: “Chapter 9, Biopsy Results–Good News!“, “Chapter 10, In Remission (And Confusion!)“, “Chapter 11, Questions for L.”, and “Chapter 12, Encouragement from L.”

Please do read them and feel free to comment or ask questions. Some things have changed since originally writing this material, (more…)
