Chapters 9 through 12 have been posted in my book-style story of my cancer journey, which I’ve titled “Choosing Cancer–My Story”. Yes, I will, sooner or later, get around to explaining why I’ve called it that. For now, there are some interesting points in the 4 most recent chapters: “Chapter 9, Biopsy Results–Good News!“, “Chapter 10, In Remission (And Confusion!)“, “Chapter 11, Questions for L.”, and “Chapter 12, Encouragement from L.”

Please do read them and feel free to comment or ask questions. Some things have changed since originally writing this material, (more…)

Flax seed is probably best known for its high fiber content, but I first heard about its potent cancer-fighting lignans when reading up on the famous Dr. Budwig’s Cancer Diet.

She recommends combining flax seed oil with quark (or cottage cheese, which is more readily available in the US). I couldn’t find either here, but after researching flax seed a bit more, I was impressed also by how researchers uncovered its power in the ground form when they added freshly ground flax seed meal to the diets of  prostrate cancer patients already scheduled for surgery. In “The Budwig Cancer Diet–What it Does“, you can read about Dr. Johanna Budwig’s diet for healing someone with cancer. It leans heavily on a mixture of flaxseed oil and quark (or cottage cheese). I’ve posted some information about it in the section “Interesting health articles from others” along with Dr. David Sevan-Schreiber’s very good article called “We can stop the cancer epidemic.”

Please take some time to read these articles, especially the latter, which is also shorter and easier reading.  Thanks! Have a great day!

Dear L,

Thanks for keeping in touch. I realize I’m actually “in remission” not exactly as I had put it, “they got all the cancer”. I’m beginning to recognize the difference. I must still be diligent to make the conditions in my body a very hostile environment for cancer, as there aren’t any tests that tell if and how many stray cancer cells are roaming around in my body, hoping for the right conditions to be able to grow again. Is that about right? So, I need to continue the balancing act with the live foods and supplements. Thankfully, J’s started to take an interest in following the same schedule, though he still eats fish and eggs. (more…)
